My Take on Everyday Biohacking

My guess is that you’re here because you have an interest in improving your health in some way.

You might be an athlete or entrepreneur looking for the competitive edge and are keen to know what tips and tricks can boost your focus, productivity and performance. Or you might be an overwhelmed parent with a list of health issues you’d like to improve so you can be happier and energetic. Maybe you’ve landed here in desperate need of a solution to what you feel like you’ve tried everything before – for yourself or a loved one.

Or maybe you’re just scrolling through to see what this biohacking thing is all about. Well, biohacking is quite a new term, and it’s a broad one. My definition is:

“The science of working with your biology to create an optimal internal environment to not only survive, but thrive.”

This also ties in with The World Health Organisation’s (WHO) definition of health. They state that “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”  I couldn’t agree more.  Just because there is no diagnosis (yet), it doesn’t mean the body is functioning optimally.

Biohacking as a subject can get pretty complicated, there is a pretty deep rabbit hole you can go down.  So as the blog name suggests, I’ll be here to cover what I consider the everyday biohacks that anyone can learn, practice and access.

What types of things do I consider Everyday Biohacking?

  • Food, diets and hormones
  • Intermittent fasting
  • Neurofeedback brain training
  • Lifestyle – sleep optimization, stress management, discovering the right exercise
  • Sports supplements, nootropics
  • Tools of the trade i.e. sleep tracking, testing, books, devices etc.

For the most part, you can pick and choose what you please and what suits your lifestyle. BUT! There is a foundation of healthy habits that I advise as non negotiable.  I’ll cover those subjects here in the blog over time.

Always feel free to get in touch and let me know about what you’ve tried or what you’d like to hear about. You can come and say hi on Facebook or Instagram.

Yours in good health,

Eva

What to eat?

The million dollar question is, which diet/lifestyle is the healthiest? Is it Paleo? Keto? Vegan? There are so many “diets” and lifestyles to choose from.
